The company was founded with the spirit of ingenuity and problem solving and has been very involved in the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to tackle many different applications in the Oil and Gas and Engineering market places. The Seismic Survey position is responsible for the operation of GPS survey equipment to aid in data collection services for aerial mapping programs on a variety of seismic projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Operation of GPS/GNSS survey equipment.
  • Establish survey control over project areas.
  • Knowledge of static data collection and processing
  • Proper placement of survey points;
  • Identify and train properly mark hazards encountered;
  • Read a map and properly navigate
  • Regularly inspect equipment;
  • Operate multiple survey tools including but not limited to handheld GPS units, Trimble R8 GPS and compasses;
  • Maintain work area and equipment;
  • Maintain a safe working environment that is in compliance with all applicable OH&S regulations as well as all applicable company Health and Safety and Compliance protocols;
  • Ensure daily paperwork is filled out timely and correct;
  • Operate a UTV/ATV;
  • Collection of field data to ensure accuracy of mapping program;
  • Provide guidance to Jr. employees.
  • Assist in the coordination of the projects.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Ventus Geospatial.

UAV/DRONE 107 PILOT

Travel is to be expected as operations span throughout the US and Canada and assignments may vary as projects complete their lifecycles.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and operate unmanned aerial systems
  • Develop and complete pre-flight planning procedures
  • Complete Job Safety Analysis’ and obtain proper permits from operations
  • Familiar with processing and delivering unmanned aerial systems data
  • Conduct periodic UAS inspections, routine tests and system updates
  • Understanding of how to communicate with air traffic control
  • Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Petrochemical, refining, and oil & gas experience
  • FAA Issued Part 107 UAV license
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 100 hours of logged and recorded UAS flight time
  • Strong knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Systems
  • Lift maximum of 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours
  • Committed to safety, quality, and communication
  • Team oriented and self-directed
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of general office equipment
  • Background check required
